RETAIL BANKING<br />
For 2007, the priorities <strong>for</strong> FRENCH RETAIL<br />
BANKING are to:<br />
• Continue improving the satisfaction of individual<br />
customers, by pressing ahead with the branch<br />
refurbishm<strong>en</strong>t programme and innovation ef<strong>for</strong>ts,<br />
especially with respect to financial savings services<br />
and personal protection insurance products;<br />
• Consolidate its no. 1 position in the Fr<strong>en</strong>ch private<br />
<strong>bank</strong>ing market, by developing wealth managem<strong>en</strong>t<br />
services, helping cli<strong>en</strong>t advisors to bolster their<br />
skills and expertise, and pursuing product innovation<br />
ef<strong>for</strong>ts;<br />
• Capitalise on the success of the Business C<strong>en</strong>tres<br />
among corporate cli<strong>en</strong>ts in order to (i) expand crossselling<br />
of all the Group’s products and services,<br />
including BNL’s Italian desks; and (ii) to become<br />
the main <strong>bank</strong> <strong>for</strong> growing businesses;<br />
• Enhance productivity gains with respect to both sales<br />
agreem<strong>en</strong>ts and the back offices where processes will<br />
continue to be computerised and streamlined.<br />
INTERNATIONAL<br />
RETAIL BANKING AND<br />
FINANCIAL SERVICES<br />
In 2007, INTERNATIONAL RETAIL BANKING<br />
AND FINANCIAL SERVICES will implem<strong>en</strong>t an<br />
ambitious strategy in all of the regions where it does<br />
business. Its focus will be on:<br />
• Consolidating its leading positions in Retail<br />
Financial Services in Europe – especially France<br />
and Italy – by stepping up innovation ef<strong>for</strong>ts and<br />
pursuing productivity gains;<br />
• Implem<strong>en</strong>ting the organic growth plan at BancWest<br />
by expanding its branch network and rolling out its<br />
expanded product offering across the <strong>en</strong>tire network;<br />
• Strongly increasing activities in emerging markets<br />
and continuing to op<strong>en</strong> branches in far eastern<br />
Europe and around the Mediterranean basin<br />
(190 branch op<strong>en</strong>ings planned), taking full advantage<br />
of pot<strong>en</strong>tial synergies betwe<strong>en</strong> the networks and<br />
the Group’s product plat<strong>for</strong>ms (consumer l<strong>en</strong>ding,<br />
leasing, credit protection insurance, etc.);<br />
• Leveraging acquisition-related cost savings.<br />
ASSET<br />
MANAGEMENT<br />
AND SERVICES<br />
In 2007, the AMS core business will continue to deploy<br />
its value-creating profitable growth model, by:<br />
• Focusing on organic growth, boosted by positive<br />
structural tr<strong>en</strong>ds both in Europe and increasingly in<br />
emerging countries;<br />
• Capitalising on new areas <strong>for</strong> growth in Italy, where<br />
the Bank is to roll out a private <strong>bank</strong>ing network<br />
with BNL and consolidate its product offering, especially<br />
in terms of asset managem<strong>en</strong>t and insurance.<br />
Asset Managem<strong>en</strong>t and Services is aiming at going on<br />
with its fast organic growth.
