Mary Hewell Alston Hall, which was completed in 1991, houses faculty and administrative<strong>of</strong>fices, seminar rooms, and four technologically innovative classrooms. <strong>The</strong> Angelo Bruno Business Library and SloanY. Bashinsky Sr. Computer Center was occupied in January 1994. This integrated business information centerincludes the expanded business library, three hands-on computer classrooms, and open computer labs forundergraduate and graduate students. Bidgood Hall, the traditional home <strong>of</strong> the College, reopened in January 1994after extensive renovations. This building now houses 28 multimedia classrooms and two classrooms equipped totelecast and receive distance learning classes. <strong>The</strong> business complex is equipped with a wireless network allowing fullInternet access from laptops and other equipped devices. Bidgood Hall also houses the <strong>of</strong>fices <strong>of</strong> the Manderson<strong>Graduate</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> Business, <strong>of</strong>fice space and group study facilities for graduate students, and the research centersaffiliated with the College.Angelo Bruno Business Library<strong>The</strong> Angelo Bruno Business Library serves the business information needs <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alabama</strong> and inparticular the students and faculty <strong>of</strong> the Culverhouse College <strong>of</strong> Commerce and Business Administration (C&BA) andthe Manderson <strong>Graduate</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> Business. <strong>The</strong> library serves over 400,000 visitors each year, which representsrepeated use by C&BA students, faculty, staff, and others from the <strong>University</strong> community and beyond. <strong>The</strong> 64,000square-foot facility is conveniently located on Stadium Drive within the C&BA complex and also houses the College'sSloan Y. Bashinsky Sr. Computer Center. Combining business library services and business computer laboratoryservices in the same facility provides seamless access to information services for business students.<strong>The</strong> Bruno Library's resources comprise a wide variety <strong>of</strong> online computer databases and over 190,000 volumes,including hundreds <strong>of</strong> business periodicals in electronic or print formats. <strong>The</strong> Library is a fully networked environment<strong>of</strong>fering enhanced access to electronic information sources. A wireless network facilitates students' use <strong>of</strong> their laptopcomputers for accessing many business library databases from anywhere in the library and the C&BA complex.Library faculty and staff <strong>of</strong>fer users specialized information assistance and services and individual and classinstruction in library research and effective use <strong>of</strong> library databases. Special features include an electronic libraryinstruction classroom and a variety <strong>of</strong> seating and study accommodations, including group study rooms for teamassignments. <strong>The</strong> Bruno website provides convenient access to library resources, including specially licensed businessdatabases, the library catalog, and the World Wide Web.<strong>The</strong> Bruno Library's databases, books, journals, and special collections <strong>of</strong>fer excellent support <strong>of</strong> the C&BA teachingand research fields in business, economics, finance, accounting, information systems, and statistics. Full-text accessto business-related periodicals and newspapers is available through such databases as ABI/Inform, Business SourcePremier, Factiva.com, and LexisNexis. Extensive worldwide data on publicly traded securities <strong>of</strong> all kinds is availablefrom Bloomberg Financial Markets and News. Other resources provide coverage <strong>of</strong> important topics such as companyfinancial data, industry pr<strong>of</strong>iles, international business, and tax regulations and cases. <strong>The</strong> Bruno Library's extensivecollection <strong>of</strong> historical corporate annual reports has received national recognition.<strong>The</strong> Angelo Bruno Business Library provides convenient access to information resources through technologicallyadvanced as well as traditional means. User service is a major emphasis. Our goals are to tailor our collections andservices to meet the needs <strong>of</strong> C&BA undergraduate and graduate students and faculty and to deliver the best possiblemix <strong>of</strong> traditional and technologically advanced library services. For more information, visit the Library's website athttp://brunolib.cba.ua.edu.Technology Group<strong>The</strong> Technology Group was established in 1984 to provide computing facilities for the College <strong>of</strong> BusinessAdministration students and faculty. <strong>The</strong> C&BA network connects over 400 lab and desktop computers to the campusnetwork and the Internet. Our network file servers provide access to dozens <strong>of</strong> powerful applications specific to thevarious disciplines <strong>of</strong> the College. <strong>The</strong>re are 7 pr<strong>of</strong>essional staff and 40 student employees available to providetechnical assistance to our faculty, staff, and student users.<strong>The</strong> Bashinsky Lab, completed in 1994, <strong>of</strong>fers a 20-seat collaborative multimedia facility, two 40-workstationmultimedia classrooms, a 60-workstation open lab and a 20-workstation graduate lab. <strong>The</strong> E-Commerce Lab inBidgood Hall was completed in 2001 and provides 16 group workstations. A Special Projects Lab was also completedin 2001. This lab provides students working on class projects with 10 workstations, an LCD projector, and aconference table.<strong>The</strong>re are 27 multimedia classrooms within the College featuring high-resolution projectors, PA system, wireless
