Three hours.Prerequisite: LS 508 or permission <strong>of</strong> the instructor.Thorough study <strong>of</strong> all aspects <strong>of</strong> the organization and administration <strong>of</strong> libraries and information centers.CIS 619 Seminar in Education for Librarianship. Three hours. Pass/fail.Study <strong>of</strong> the major issues in library education. Among the topics considered are theories <strong>of</strong> education, the universityenvironment, special characteristics <strong>of</strong> education for the pr<strong>of</strong>essions, library school faculty, students, and curricula.Dalton.CIS 620 Advanced Materials and Programming for Youth. Three hours.Prerequisite: LS 521 or LS 522.Special topics in materials, programs, and services for children and young adults. May be taken more than once.CIS 632 <strong>School</strong> Media Centers. Three hours.Develops a philosophical and functional background <strong>of</strong> the school media program as an integral part <strong>of</strong> the teachinglearningprocess. Three hours.Prerequisite: LS 542.Thorough study <strong>of</strong> the human and environmental factors that impinge upon the instructional design consultationprocess.
