Chapter 2: National Estimates of Delinquency CasesRace■■■In 2005, the total delinquency caserate for black juveniles (108.4) wasmore than double the rate for whitejuveniles (44.4) and for AmericanIndian youth (53.3); the delinquencycase rate for Asian youth was 17.2.The delinquency case rate for whitejuveniles peaked in 1997 (54.3) andthen fell 18% by 2005; for black juveniles,the rate in 2005 was down13% from its 1995 peak (124.1).
