Welcome to the first editionof the Beach Grove Guide to GolfThis publication has been designed to inform, educate and entertain you, while at thesame time guide you through the very busy golf season ahead. On the pages that followyou will find a complete guide to all of the many programs offered at the club as well asinteresting and informative facts about our operations. When used in conjunction withthe Club’s annual Directory, the Club Bylaw booklet and the Club’s Website you shouldbe up to the minute with all the details needed to make the most of your membershipexperience. We hope that you will read it cover to cover and that you will refer to it oftenthroughout the year.Each new season brings changes that reflect the wishes and needs of the membership.2011 is no different. The club recently introduced a new dress code that could change theway you and your family participate at the club. This dress code is described in detail onthe pages that follow. The club has also recently introduced a set of guiding principles fora well paced game with the goal of keeping a round of golf to less than 4 hours and 10minutes. Below is a sampling of some of what you might see at the Club this season.Welcome Vice Captain Bill CarcaryMr. Bill Carcary joins Club Captain Glenn Ford as a part of the Golf Match Committee.Bill has been an active member of Beach Grove for over 30 years.New Back Shop SupervisorThe club welcomes Paul Smith as the new back shop supervisor.Please welcome this Ladner resident to the Professional Shop team.New Player Assistant TeamThe Club is proud to welcome three very qualified staff to the player assistant roles this year.Here for 2011 are Brian Hansen, Bob Doige and Ron Sapario all of whom are Delta residents.These men occupy very challenging and exciting positions here at the club. Please welcomethem and work with them as they strive keep the golf course safe and running efficiently.Member Email StatementsBeach Grove administrative team has just introduced online member statements to themembers. These statements are available to all members and include detailed chits witheach statement. Why not switch to the paperless future. This is a complimentary service.New Golf Course Maintenance Facility OpensMarch 2011 will see the opening of the first phase of the new golf course maintenance facility.This first phase will house specific staff needs including administrative offices, lunch rooms andtraining areas as well as safety and medical rooms. The completion of these facilities has encroachedon the available parking spaces for the membership. Please exercise caution whendriving in this newly constructed area.Dress Code TrialBeach Grove Golf Club will welcome the wearing of denim pants in the clubhouse on a trial basis untilDecember 2011. The full dress code is available elsewhere in this Guide to Golf and on the club website.You are encouraged to review this new trial dress code and see how it might affect your participationat the Club.Member Referral Incentive ProgramThe club has introduced new member referral incentives to the membership that include: Annual RangePasses, Cart Passes, Golf Passes and Food and Beverage Certificates. Please visit the club website forupdated information.Hole in One ProgramThe member hole in one program has been revised to better meet the needs of the club aces.The program now offers an opportunity to entertain the members in the club as well as attendthe annual Champions Reception to receive a commemorative gift for your incredible shot!Night GolfJoin us for our inaugural tournament of Night Golf September 30.
