WHO’S RESPONSIBLE?Important NoticeAlthough we all wish accidents did not happen, the fact is that theydo. As a rule it is better <strong>to</strong> know where the responsibility lies before anaccident happens <strong>to</strong> you or your guests.Members and their Guests are respectfully notified that <strong>Beach</strong><strong>Grove</strong> <strong>Golf</strong> <strong>Club</strong> or their Agents, are not responsible for golf clubs orequipment s<strong>to</strong>red in the golf shop or for personal effects left in the <strong>Golf</strong>Shop, Lockers or on the <strong>Club</strong> premises. The <strong>Club</strong>, or their Agents, donot accept any liability for the injury or damage incurred by the actionof a member or their guest. Therefore it is highly recommended thatMembers ensure that their personal insurance covers their responsibilityfor liability, golf equipment and all personal effects.The Board of Direc<strong>to</strong>rs has instructed management <strong>to</strong> enforce the rulesand regulations and policies. From time <strong>to</strong> time, changes <strong>to</strong> rules andregulations and policies will become necessary. Each of these changeswill be published before taking effect. All members are requested <strong>to</strong>read, become acquainted with and observe the Rules and Regulationsand Policies as published herein or in the Roster Booklet or the <strong>Club</strong>’sArticles of Association.In addition it is important <strong>to</strong> note that the privacy and safety of theproperties and their occupants that border the golf course propertyis everyone’s concern and responsibility. Please respect our neighborsright <strong>to</strong> safe and private enjoyment of their property.RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL SERVICE POLICYCLUB DONATIONS - GOVERNING GUIDELINESThe club shall donate <strong>to</strong> charities when thefollowing requirements are met:1. All donations must be requested in writing by amember2. All requests must be specific in nature, i.e., twogreen fees and a cart3. Donations will be valid for no more than oneyear from the date of issue.4. All donations must be <strong>to</strong> the benefit ofcommunity, youth, health or education.5. Any given member may only request adonation once every other year.6. Organizations and charities may only receive adonation once every other year.7. The maximum annual budget of donations willnot exceed 200 rounds of golf.8. <strong>Club</strong> events may exchange guest fees for equalguest fees for member use only as prizes atmember sanctioned events.9. Donations outside of these parameters must beapproved in writing by the Finance CommitteeChairman or the General Manager.1. The <strong>Club</strong> will endeavor <strong>to</strong> provide patrons, members and guests witha safe environment at all times.2. Members are responsible for the actions of their guests while at the<strong>Club</strong>.3. If a patron, who appears <strong>to</strong> be in<strong>to</strong>xicated, does not have aresponsible person, or another alternative available <strong>to</strong> them for safetransportation from <strong>Club</strong> property; then management will, in allcases, do the following:a. Call a pre-arranged driving or cab service with specificinstructions for a pick-up of the patron at the <strong>Club</strong>.b. Advise the patron that a driving service or cab service has beencalled and that the service will be available within a reasonableperiod of time.c. Make every reasonable effort <strong>to</strong> ensure the patron utilizes thetransportation service that is being provided.4. If the patron, who appears <strong>to</strong> be in<strong>to</strong>xicated, refuses <strong>to</strong> use the cabor driving service provided by the <strong>Club</strong>; then management will, in allcases, advise the patron as follows:a. The incident will be reported <strong>to</strong> the Food and Beverage Manageror <strong>to</strong> the General Manager, who is empowered by the <strong>Club</strong> <strong>to</strong>notify the authorities.b. Alcohol service will be refused for the remainder of their visit atthe <strong>Club</strong>.5. The cost of the driving service or cab service provided for anin<strong>to</strong>xicated patron (whether it is used by the patron or not) willbe paid for by the <strong>Club</strong> and then charged back <strong>to</strong> the member’saccount.6. Employees who have followed these guidelines will be deemed <strong>to</strong>have exercised reasonable care and judgment in the performanceof their duties and obligations under the <strong>Club</strong>’s responsible alcoholservice policy.7. The General Manager directs the Food and Beverage staff <strong>to</strong> take allappropriate steps <strong>to</strong> ensure complete implementation of the policyas prescribed.8. In all instances, the Board of Direc<strong>to</strong>rs and membership will support,and hold harmless the actions of the employee; if these serviceguidelines are professionally administered and followed.26 27
