is taking a new look at infection control, and is finding widespread deficiencies. Even a comprehensive policy with<br />
consistent training may not ensure compliance with best practices. Policies that aren’t followed just won’t work. This<br />
session will identify good infection control practices, and will offer suggestions to ensure compliance at every level of<br />

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requires all long term care facilities to be entirely protected<br />
by an approved fire sprinkler system by Aug. 13, 2013. This session will discuss the CMS and <strong>Illinois</strong> Department of<br />
Public <strong>Health</strong> (IDPH) requirements that must be met during the installation of a fire protection system. Topics will<br />
include Infection Control and Interim Life Safety Measures.<br />

The inception of the Affordable <strong>Care</strong> Act (ACA) in March 2010 put in place reforms to the healthcare law that will<br />
continue to roll out through 2014 and beyond. We will discuss the many changes that have occurred, with more<br />
alterations pending, since the commencement of this law. We will address how PPACA delivers major challenges for<br />
the healthcare profession. Finally, we will provide insight into the potential solutions available in 2014.<br />
