This session will discuss how activity professionals can look beyond the activity calendar and address the quality of life<br />

needs of each individual resident. The speakers will address the assessment process, discovering those activities that are<br />

most meaningful to each person. They will share best practices from around the state in making the residents’ dreams<br />

come true. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their own success stories and enjoy a group exercise.<br />

Everyone will walk away motivated and inspired!<br />

So many changes have happened in the past couple of years that have impacted social services in long term care. We<br />

need to “roll with the changes” and yet not lose sight of what is most important, which is our residents. This is so much<br />

more of a challenge now with all the requirements that must be met. This session will “highlight” these changes and look<br />

at how to keep our top priority--our residents--just that; our top priority.<br />

spreading into our healthcare systems at a rapid rate. The dynamic environment of these facilities is the perfect grounds<br />

for the introduction of bed bugs. With educated staff, written protocols, and a proactive philosophy, healthcare facilities<br />

can be prepared to take the correct action for the inevitable bed bug introduction.<br />
