Enteral nutrition plays a vital role in senior living. Individuals nourished via tube feeding formulas reside in skilled<br />

care, assisted living and independent living. This session will investigate regulatory requirements, ethical considerations,<br />

person centered values and end-of-life discussion with residents and/or families with loved ones sustained by enteral<br />

nutrition.<br />

As long term care progresses and different options become available to the elderly population, the types of individuals<br />

that are coming in to nursing homes have changed. We now see individuals with a higher level of need related to all<br />

areas of their lives and this is affecting all departments. The Activity Department is struggling with programming and<br />

meeting the residents’ specific needs. In this time of budget cuts, leisure barriers, and personal preferences, we need to<br />

re-think our programming and re-structure our day. More emphasis needs to be placed on small group programming,<br />

sensory stimulation and 1:1’s. These programs can be the most difficult to plan and implement. Let this session help you<br />

get started in the right direction.<br />

having huge implications related to partnerships, integration and guaranteed outcomes. This session will provide up-todate<br />

strategies to assist providers to begin action planning today to assure their future marketplace viability.<br />
