I. dramatists were on their toes this year,presenting three popular light comedies, underthe direction <strong>of</strong> John F. Sollers and Miss JeanCollette."No Mother to Guide Her," by Lillian Mortimer,played a two-night run early in November,plus a performance for Navy men. DirectorSollers put his "dramatis personae" through arugged training period to turn out one <strong>of</strong> thegayest a nd purposely "corny" productions everstaged at <strong>Idaho</strong>.Marian Wilson, Marcia Kimble, and DrexelBrown headed the female cast, and KennethLemon, Edward Dalva, Ralph Joslyn, andBates Murphy topped the male cast <strong>of</strong> this''I'm going to marry your daughter or else- "production.Other cast members were Betty Detweiler,Meredyth Bowler, Pete Kalamarides, ]. T.Peterson, Guy Wilson, and Ed Ghormley.Assisting Director Sollers were Gene Roth,Beverly Bistline, and Ellen Cox.Came the Christmas snows and the dramaticsdepartment brought its second smash hit <strong>of</strong> theseason, "Green G row the Lilacs," by LynnRiggs. Under the direction <strong>of</strong> Miss Collette,this frontier story unfolded before a fascinatedaudience in mid-December.Leading roles were played by Gene Roth,Jean Rosebaugh, Margaret Bacon, Evan La­Follette, Patricia Pugh, Jack Muller, WintonWood, and Delmar Bodker. Beverly Bistline,Bob Leeper, Jerry Riddle, and Weldon Coleassisted the director.High lights <strong>of</strong> the production were squaredances and the 23-man cowboy chorus.It was early April when the dramatists played"Ring Around Elizabeth," by Chari Armstrong.This was the first production in which DirectorCollette used a double cast. With each performancesome characters were replaced by doubles.Meredyth Bowler played the leading role <strong>of</strong>E lizabeth, who suffered a severe attack <strong>of</strong>amnesia, knocking twenty years <strong>of</strong>f her memoryand allowing her to beat her own daughtersto their men.Other performers included Elaine And.erson,Mary Brown, E lizabeth Benny, Virginia Barrows,Mary Kay Drumheller, Jean Rosebaugh,Jacqueline Morefield, Ann Norman, DrexelBrown, Jim Watson, Joane Hunter, Dick Ryan,].
