Like all newcomer's at the University, thisyear's Freshman C lass was anxious to startthings rolling. So in early October, the firstyearclass sponsored the second annual F roshWeek, which was high-lighted by an all-FreshmanSweater Mixer.Purpose of Frosh Week is to give freshmenan opportunity to get acquainted with classmates.Throughout the week members of theclass wear only sweaters to class, and the mixercarries a strictly "sweater" theme.Hank Arrien was in charge of this year'sevent, being ably aided by the following committeeheads: Harold Evans, Bob Miller, J eanKilpatrick, Ann Hite, j. T. Peterson, WalterJain, Marjorie Gooding, and jean Ardinbury.C redit for the success of Frosh Week is alsodue class officers, who worked hand-in-handwith committeemen in formulating and carryingout plans. Officers were: E lmer Wilson,president; Bob Barbour, vice president; BobJones, secretary ; and Kay Richardson, treasurer.Before the end of the year, Wilson was calledinto the armed services and Barbour movedinto the p residency for the remainder of theterm. Other officers served through the wholeyear.78
