STUDENTS • • •an All-Women's Play Party, and it was reportedvery successful. The party consisted of a buffetluncheon, group singing, and country dancing,and the A. W.S. plan to make it an annual affair.To assist new students, the A.W.S. sponsoreda counselor service and met trains and bussesbringing students to Moscow last September.They answered questions and helped to orientnew students on the campus.Heading A.W.S. activity was Rena Eccher,president. Other officers were Pauline Hawley,Doris Johnson, Barbara Long, Claire Bracken.A keynote of the Associated Women Studentsis its representative form of government. Besidesits regularly elected officers, the group hasa governing body composed of junior and seniorrepresentatives from each women's group onthe campus. This body, the A.W.S. Council, hasthe function of formulating and enforcing women'srules and regulations on the campus.At the beginning of each year, the councilmeets with Miss Beatrice Olson, dean of women,and discusses all campus r ules for women. Desirablechanges in regulations are made, andthese are published in the A. W.S. Handbook.Women's activities end on May Day at Idahowith the annual May Day Fete.
