Aweak Idaho line, which was torn to shreds, gaveMontana its victory margin.Idaho's backfield, sparked by Jerry Williams,played outstanding, but did not receive enoughsupport to penetrate Montana territory.Washington State tri mmed the freshmen by13 to 0 in their last game of the season. Thegame was played on a snow-covered Nealestadium turf, and Washington State scoredboth its touchdowns on running plays.Because Gonzaga University abandoned football"for the duration," the seasonal IdahoConzaga freshman game was not played in1942.Freshmen Score Seven Hoop VictoriesIdaho 42 Naval Radio T.S. - 17Idaho 40 Navy - 27Idaho 33 w.s.c. 30Idaho 59 Palouse A. The SN team, boasting one of thebest intramural teams in Idaho history, scoreda 51 to 39 triumph over the colorful babes.In their series with Washington State, theIdaho Babes won five, while yielding only once.They ended the season with four straight victoriesover their traditional rivals.Four victories were won from a quintet representingthe Navy Radio Training School,located on the campus. Two other wins cameover the Palouse town team.High scorer for the frosh during the year wasJohn White with I 08 points.NuMERAL WINNERS: Dale Albin, Martin Alzola, Bob Barbour, Gene Campbell, Richard Gardner,Don Cates, Tom Mendiola, Archie Peterson, Lennard Pyne, Douglas Sorenson, and John White.277
