Rallg Committee and Yell TeamWritten into the A.S.U. I. constitution for thefirst time this year was provision for a studentrally committee. The new organization, whichworked in cooperation with the Vandal yellteam, had charge of arrangements for all ralliesand half-time entertainmen t.The committee operated on a " non-legal"basis under the leadership of Bob Desaulniersin 194 1-42, and when it was legalized this yearDesaulniers was made chairman. Other memberswere chosen from among the cheer leadersand at random around the campus.Outstanding among the committee's workthis year were the card stunts, worked out byYell King Rex Phillips a nd Desaulniers for theIdaho-W.S.C. game.The Idaho yell team was the target of muchunfavorable student criticism this year, afterthe A.S. U. l. executive board began interferringwith its membership and activities.In the fall, while under the direction ofPhillips, the team was "tops," but when P hillipsresigned the kingship, and the executiveboard shunned veteran team members to nameBarbara Cronkhite yell queen, t rouble started.Old team members resigned, a nd the energeticBarby was compelled to work with a small,inexperienced crew.RALLY CoMMITTI!It ••• Barbara Cronkhite.
