In 2008, a compromise was negotiated whereby only <strong>the</strong> façade would be retained, and a 46-storeyresidential tower built on top. By June 2009, <strong>the</strong> rear <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> market had been demolished to make way for <strong>the</strong> new podium.
