Website: www.extrusiondies.com/
Business Description: Founded in 1971, Extrusion Dies Industries (EDI),
LLC is an international supplier of flat extrusion and co-extrusion die systems
for the full range of film, sheet, extrusion coating, fluid coating and strand
palletizing applications. Primary production is carried out at the world
headquarters in Chippewa Falls, WI, U.S.A. EDI GmbH, located in Reichsof-
Wehnrath, Germany, and EDI Precision Dies (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in China,
wholly-owned subsidiaries, and Kodama Chemical, a licensed rework facility,
in Japan can offer a full line of remanufacturing services.
Products: EDI manufactures mono- and multi-layer production dies and
anxillary equipment. EDI builds two types of slot die coating systems: the
Liberty® fixed-lip system, and the Ultracoat® adjustable lip system. Liberty
slot dies are particularly suited for very thin and optically clear coatings
requiring very close tolerances. Ultracoat slot dies have a flexible lip, whose
adjustability is the key to controlling the lip gap profile and thus the coat
weight. EDI offers a Modular Coating System (MCS) which is capable of
rolling into place on nearly any commercial coating line. Enabling operators to
switch readily between roll and slot die coating or use the for trial purposes.
EDI custom-designs each MCS to meet user requirements and can supply
the system with an Ultracoat flexible lip die or a Liberty fixed lip die, a backing
roll and support stand plus more optional features. Also available are trial
runs of the Liberty Dies with the WetWare module. This module is a trialsize
coating system that enables converters using conventional roll coating
processes to test-run slot die coating in their own plants.
Re-manufacturing operations are utilized for simple die overhauls, for
bringing equipment back to original operating specifications and for more
complex operations such as resizing flow surfaces and adding advanced
technology. These capabilities are available at our headquarters in Chippewa
Falls, WI, EDI GmbH, Germany and EDI China. EDI has recently opened
its own Technology Lab available for all of your trial needs. Our lab includes
three fully equipped processing laboratories which include a cast film line, an
extrusion coating and laminating line and a slot die coating line.
capabilities: We supply flat dies for the converting industry such as
extrusion coating, cast & oriented film, fluid coating and intermittent (patch
coating) coating.
