If not, update the test piece test parameters.Refer to section A.7, Tolerances tab.Click OK if the parameters are correct for the TI tobe calibrated.Mount the dial indicator using the appropriate reducingsleeve and/or attachments.CAUTION:Always hold the test piecewhen loosening the clampinglever (17) for the setting positionof the test piece.Failure to hold the test piece will result in the testpiece colliding with the anvil causing damage to boththe Optimar 100 and the Test Piece.Preload the dial indicator IAW TO 33K6-4-889-1. Adjustthe clamping lever (17) to manually set the preloadas close as possible, rough adjustment.Set the dial indicator's needle to zero byrotating the Optimar 100's rotary knob(15), fine adjustment.This will be the zero reference positionfor the dial indicator and the Optimar’sanvil.4 The following menu screen below will appear.NOTE: If the distance from the anvil to the dial indicator'scontact tip requires a large amount of traveldistance to make contact, there is a software functioncalled Measuring Station that will move the anvil at afaster or slower slew rate electronically.Click on the Extra menu button at the top, then selectand click Measuring Station from the drop downmenu. Click on either the up or down arrows to slewthe anvil close to the test piece’s contact tip.(Continued on page 42)
