OVERVIEW OF THE GROUP2Activities3. ACTIVITIESBOURBON offers its oil and gas clients a comprehensive andmodular range of marine services for offshore oil and gas. In theMarine Services Activity, BOURBON’s vessels are employed inexploration, development and production of fi elds in continentaland deepwater offshore. In the Subsea Services activity, thevessels are involved in inspection, maintenance and repairoperations for deepwater offshore facilities. For over thirty years,the Group has also managed the protection of the French coastlinefor the French navy.3.1 GEOGRAPHIC PRESENCEBOURBON operates in the principal marine oil regions, apart fromthe American part of the Gulf of Mexico. BOURBON is thereforepresent in:3 Africa, in particular the Gulf of Guinea;3 the North Sea;3 the Mediterranean Sea;3 Mexico, Brazil and Trinidad;3 India and the Middle-East;3 Australia;3 the Far-East: Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, China,Indonesia, Malaysia.3.2 MARINE SERVICESThe Marine Services Activity covers all offshore oil and coastalprotection support services. Exploiting a dynamic policy of mediumandlong-term contracts, the Marine Services Activity provides alatest-generation fl eet ideally suited to the specifi c requirements ofthe most rigorous and exacting oil clients.Through its strong investment capacity, its technical and technologicalexpertise, and its employees qualifi cation, BOURBON is perfectlypositioned to respond to the real revolution that offshore oil & gasbusinesses are undergoing. Its increasingly innovative vessels areideal for responding to market needs in traditional offshore (depth ofless than 200 m) and the requirements of deepwater offshore (depthup to 3,000 m).3.2.1 The fleet - Offshore supportAnchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels (AHTS)AHTS vessels are used for positioning and maintaining oil and gasplatforms. They have powerful engines and winches, can tow drillingrigs, lay and lift anchors, and deploy numerous items of equipmentconnected with oil production.Platform Supply Vessels (PSV)These vessels supply offshore facilities with equipment and specialproducts. In addition to their huge deck area that enables all types ofequipment to be transported, including extra-large packages, theyhave sizable storage capacity.Terminal TugsThe BOURBON fl eet tugs are dedicated to support and interventionoperations on offshore oil and gas terminals, and are specialized instorage vessel assistance (FPSO).CrewboatsFast Supply Intervention Vessels provide urgent supplies andtransport of response teams.The Surfers are fast crewboats that can transport personnel rapidlyto offshore oil sites and serve the platforms within a fi eld.3.2.2 The fleet - Coastal protectionAssistance & salvage tugsThese are dedicated to the protection of the French coast (preventingwrecks, assistance and salvage of vessels in distress and fi ghtingpollution risks).3.3 SUBSEA SERVICESBOURBON offers a global or modular range of subsea services toprovide maximum fl exibility and expertise to its oil operator clients: arange of vessels dedicated to IMR (Inspection, Maintenance, Repair),IMR engineering services and supervision of offshore operations,together with a fl eet of subsea robots (ROV) capable of operatingat great depths.3.3.1 The Subsea fleetIMR vesselsThese are multi-purpose vessels mainly devoted to Inspection,Maintenance and Repair (IMR) operations at great depth thatcan also support wind farms. BOURBON offers a comprehensiverange of vessels with cranes from 10 to 250 tons at depths of upto 3,000 m. They have dynamic positioning technology and craneswith built-in swell compensation systems. BOURBON’s IMR vesselshave a large cargo capacity and sizeable deck space and they canaccommodate over 100 people.This range of vessels has been specially developed to meet theneeds of oil operators throughout the lifetime of offshore fi elds.12BOURBON - 2011 Registration Document
