Household growth in Nelson Mandela BayMetro (0.7%), OR Tambo (0.6%), and uKhahlamba (0.8%) during the 2001-2007 period fell slightly below the province’s average of 0.9% per annum.Household In<strong>co</strong>meIn<strong>co</strong>mes in Eastern Cape Province are among the lowest on average inSouth Africa. Nevertheless, in<strong>co</strong>mes are increasing. The real averagehousehold in<strong>co</strong>me for Eastern Cape increased by 6.4% between 2001 and2007, to R42,900 after ac<strong>co</strong>unting for inflation.
