ERITREAThe ICRC opened a delegation in Eritrea in 1998 in the contextof the international armed conflict between Eritrea and Ethiopiaand continues to respond to the needs remaining from that twoyearwar. Its priorities are to help improve the resilience of thepopulation concerned and to ensure compliance with IHL withregard to any persons still protected by the Third and FourthGeneva Conventions.
