Rob Despins<br />
Rob Despins is the General Manager, Standard Aero Corporate University. In this capacity he<br />
is responsible for development and delivery of training to both management and front line<br />
staff. Rob was previously the Director of Marketing Systems for Standard Aero Ltd, an<br />
aircraft engine repair and overhaul facility headquartered in Winnipeg. He has been<br />
employed with Standard Aero since 1987 serving in the capacity of Manager of Training,<br />
Manager of Employee Relations, and Operations Manager. Rob is currently a member of the<br />
Premier’s Economic Council for Manitoba and chairs the committee on Renewable Resources.<br />
He is past Chair of the Board for Canadian Manufacturer’s and Exporters, Manitoba Division<br />
and has served on the board for over 10 years. He is the business co-chair of WWestnet.<br />
Susan Devins<br />
Susan Devins has been involved in community and workplace literacy for the past 17 years.<br />
Susan was hired by BHP Billiton Diamonds Inc. in 2001 to develop and implement the<br />
Workplace Learning Program at their mine in the Northwest Territories. Previously she<br />
worked in assessment, curriculum development, and training both in Canada and overseas.<br />
Susan is a graduate of the University of Alberta, Masters of <strong>Adult</strong> Education program. Her<br />
hobbies include travelling, hiking, cooking and playing flute.<br />
Havi Echenberg<br />
Havi Echenberg has been an independent consultant working with government and nongovernment<br />
organizations on issues related to social and fiscal policy, for fifteen years.<br />
Based in Ottawa, Havi has extensive experience working in intersectoral initiatives as a<br />
researcher and facilitator at local, provincial/territorial and national levels, on issues ranging<br />
from housing and homelessness, literacy, and income security, to labour market policy,<br />
diversity, and disability. She is currently the researcher and facilitator for the<br />
workplace/workforce literacy project of the Nunavut and Northwest Territory <strong>Literacy</strong><br />
Councils. Her educational background includes graduate studies in history, journalism, public<br />
administration and public policy.<br />
Linda Gauthier<br />
Since joining the Canadian Trucking Human Resources Council (CTHRC) in 1995, Linda has<br />
been involved in developing and delivering train-the trainer workshops, facilitating focus<br />
groups and developing <strong>Essential</strong> <strong>Skills</strong> Profiles and Occupational Analysis for a variety of<br />
occupations in the industry. Linda has been instrumental in the Council’s achievement of a<br />
range of leadership, research and program goals. A detailed knowledge of the challenges<br />
facing the trucking industry and over 25 years of experience in program development, have<br />
earned Linda the respect of industry stakeholders. In December 2002, Linda was named to<br />
the position of Executive Director for the Council. She holds the degree of Master of Science<br />
from Florida State University.<br />
