BACKGROUND5The Twin Citiesmetropolitanarea has 41deputyregistrars.Minnesota's deputy registIars include 90 public and 78 private deputies. The mapin Figure 1.1 shows the location of Minnesota's deputy registrars. The Twin Citiesseven-county metropolitan area has 41 deputy registrars, including 26 publicand 15 private deputies, as shown in Figure 1.2. The public deputies may be city(36 deputies) or county offices (54 deputies). Some public deputies are part ofadeparbnent that offers other city or county services.
