39BACKGROUND : In the year 1963 IDCOL took over a low shaftblast furnace of 30,000 MT capacity fromKalinga Industries Ltd. and renamed it asKalinga Iron Works. Thereafter over the periodit has added 3 more Blast Furnaces (85 M 3each) for production of foundry grade pig iron asper details given below.
