The SCF is part ofthe Climate Investment Funds (CIF), being established by the Bank jointlywith the Regional Development Banks (AfDB, AsDB, EBRD, and IDB) inJuly 2008 to promote international cooperation on climate change andsupport progress towards the future of the climate change regime. South and Central America.Food security, agriculture, forestry and fisheriesMultilateral banksPROFOR is a multi-donor partnership formed to pursue a shared goal ofenhancing forests’ contribution to poverty alleviation and sustainabledevelopment through improved knowledge and approaches for sustainableforest management. PROFOR’s portfolio is diverse, comprising activitiesrelated to the four thematic areas at the international, regional orcountry level. The thematic areas are: livelihoods approach to povertyreduction; promoting good forest governance; innovative approaches tofinancing sustainable forest management; and cross-sectoral cooperation(agriculture, energy, mining, and transportation). Projects are demanddrivenby governments and other stakeholders, and to the greatest extentpossible take the form of multi-partner, larger-scale initiatives ratherthan stand-alone activities.
