Wearing seat belts saves livesEach year South Wales Police campaign to enforce the law and to educate drivers and passengers abouttheir responsibility to wear seat belts.The driver and any passengers in both the front and the back must wear seat belts (if fitted). Drivers notonly must wear seatbelts themselves but must also ensure that passengers under the age <strong>of</strong> 14 are securedcorrectly. Either they must wear seat belts or they must be sitting in special children's car seats.If a driver or passenger is found not to be wearing a seat belt, they could be issued with a fixed penaltyfine, which currently is £20 and they may have to appear in a Magistrates’ Court and be fined by theMagistrates.Some drivers do not have to wear seatbelts, for example H.G.V. drivers, postmen, taxi drivers and deliverydrivers who have numerous stops within short distances.A fatal road traffic accident costs the tax payer nearly £1 million – but the human cost cannot be measuredand this is why police need to ensure that people belt up and stay safe.Underline the verb(s) in the following sentences.1.
