I am the mother of fourchildren, two of whom have cochlear implants. I alsowork part time at the Clinic as a Parent Coach. OnThursday, November 3, 2011 at the Culinary Classicfor Kids, the Clinic’s gala fundraiser, I had the privilegeof being seated and spending time with members ofthe Elks and their wives. It was wonderful to observethe sincere caring and concern they have for theClinic’s children and the families. Three Clinic childrenaged five, seven and fourteen and two young adultsspoke to five hundred friends and supporters of theClinic. The speeches by the children and young adultsof the Clinic certainly demonstrated the importancethat their volunteer efforts have made in the lives ofthese young people. The Elks and Royal Purple havetruly helped to give these young people a “Voice”.As a parent, I am ever grateful for the assistance wehave received for our two daughters through the Elksand Royal Purple Auditory-Verbal Fund.
