KAMLOOPS <strong>ELK</strong>S LODGE NO. 44Members <strong>of</strong> Kamloops <strong>Elks</strong> Lodge No. 44 relax after enjoyinga Christmas turkey supper prepared by Santa (wearingthe hat), Sister Dina Wolansky, President <strong>of</strong> the BC <strong>Elks</strong>Association. Those who had birthdays received a free ticket.Tickets were $10.00 per person and all money raisedwas donated to the Salvation Army.Kamloops <strong>Elks</strong> Lodge No. 44 has made a tradition <strong>of</strong> supporting localCharities during the Christmas season. Brother Tom Sugden, SisterSandra Sugden, Brother Wayne Saboe and Brother Doug Haynerpresent a cheque, together with the moneys raised from theChristmas Supper, to Capt. McTaggart <strong>of</strong> the Salvation Army.Cheques were also presented to Toys for Tots, New Life Mission andthe Kamloops Food Bank.An idea by members Sister Dina and Brother Mike Wolansky <strong>of</strong> Kamloops Lodge No. 44 became a great wayto inform new residences <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Elks</strong> and hopefully attractnew members. With the help from Grand Lodge, who supplied100 DVD’s <strong>of</strong> “Making A Difference”, personalizedLodge pamphlets and <strong>Elks</strong> & Royal Purple Charitable activitiespamphlets, 100 envelopes/ packages were prepared togive to the local “Welcome Wagon”. The envelopes werefilled with a DVD, a Lodge pamphlet, an <strong>Elks</strong> & Royal Purplepamphlet, a BC <strong>Elks</strong> Recreation Children’s Camp pamphlet,a ticket (for two) to our monthly birthday suppers, a blank Elkmembership card for Kamloops No. 44 Lodge (that will beactivated when contact is made) and a letter <strong>of</strong> “Welcome tothe Community” with a brief history <strong>of</strong> Kamloops <strong>Elks</strong> Lodge;ways to contact the Lodge; meeting dates/time/place and a “Welcome to attend our Meetings.” The“Welcome Wagon” will give each new resident a package and supply us with a confidential list <strong>of</strong> their visits.Kamloops <strong>Elks</strong> Lodge hopes that this will become a success story.SUNDRE <strong>ELK</strong>S LODGE NO. 338Brother Bill Rock, long time member <strong>of</strong> Sundre <strong>Elks</strong> Lodge No. 338, ispresenting to Brother Jack Morgan, a charter member <strong>of</strong> the Lodge, a plaquefrom Grand Lodge, congratulating him on having reached his 100th birthday.Brother Morgan says he is proud <strong>of</strong> the work the <strong>Elks</strong> have done in thecommunity over the years.55
