CHILDREN’S DAY SPONSORED BY KILLARNEY <strong>ELK</strong>SIt has been a tradition for the past several years that Killarney <strong>Elks</strong> No. 238 hosts the visit with Santathe day after the Parade <strong>of</strong> Lights at our Lodge hall. We have provided various types <strong>of</strong> entertainmentfrom movies to magicians and sleigh rides. In recent years we have had Santa getting his Christmaslists from the children followed by hotdogs, c<strong>of</strong>fee and hotchocolate for the children, parents and grandparents. Thisis free but we do accept donations for the <strong>Elks</strong> and RoyalPurple Fund for Children.Santa needs a number <strong>of</strong> elves to help him organize thechildren and their parents, cook the hotdogs and providedrinks to all. This is a picture <strong>of</strong> a gathering <strong>of</strong> Brother andSister elves from Killarney Lodge No. 238 that were onhand this year.This is a much anticipated event in our community andgets the Christmas festivities underway.ST. ALBERT <strong>ELK</strong>S LODGE NO. 585The St. Albert <strong>Elks</strong> have sponsored the St. Albert Cruisin' Clubhouse Program for 16 years to the tune<strong>of</strong> approximately $84,000.00. This program provides free recreational programs at city playgrounds forthe summer months. Students are hired to carry out the tasks to the various parks. As a result <strong>of</strong> thisprogram approximately 3000 children have the opportunity to benefit from this program each summer.The city <strong>of</strong> St. Albert paid for the "Thank-You" ad that is shown here.57
