You will beinvited to attend an interview.THE CoursEThis full time course will introduce you to the beautytherapy industry. It is a practical course but you willalso get help and support with your academic skills tohelp you progress on to the Level 2 Diploma in BeautyTherapy.This is a practical ‘hands-on’ course which will bemainly taught in The College’s specialist beautysalons.Subjects you study include:• Basic anatomy and physiology• Make-up• Nail art• Manicure and pedicure• Reception duties and customer services• Preparing and maintaining the beauty therapywork area• Health and Safety• Personal presentation• Skin care• Photographic make-up• Face paintingFunctional skills will be integrated into your courseAdditional informationPractical Skills & Treatments: Please be aware thatas part of your practical lessons students learn thetreatments on each other. This is a full time programme.You will study the following subject areas:• Anatomy & Physiology• Body electrical treatments• Facial electrical treatments• Stone therapy• Body massage• Microdermabrasion• Promote and sell products and services to clients• Treatment theory• Indian head massagePractical Skills & Treatments: Please be awarethat as part of your practical lessons students learnthe treatments on each other. Further development isthen performed on paying clients which is part of theassessment process.There will be experience of realistic workingenvironments both within The College and on workexperience (60 hours).Additional informationYou will have the opportunity to participate in localtrips and visits to provide a broad understandingof the industry. Opportunities also exist for you totake part in national competitions.
