Learning will take place througha combination of classroom activities such assimulation/role play, lectures, small group work, inclasstests, exam and work placements.Assessment: Continual assessment takes placethroughout the course (assignments, essays, shorttests, displays and presentations) and observationof practical activities. <strong>The</strong>re is also a final externalexamination paper and your practical work will beassessed through your work placement.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONStudents will be required to wear a <strong>College</strong> placementT-shirt, black trousers and appropriate footwearwhilst on placement. Gaining some experience in yourchosen area is very useful. Work experience while atschool is also extremely helpful and can provide avaluable employment contact or reference.A CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check will becarried out.NEXT STEPYou will gain a Level 3 qualification that is listed inthe Qualification and Curriculum Authority’s (QCA)new framework of nationally accredited qualificationsin early years’ education, childcare and play work.You may find employment as an Early Yearspractitioner in a variety of Childcare settings includingopportunities in the family home, nursery, hospital,school and with holiday companies as Childcare Reps.Depending on your area of particular interest you canenter, childcare work or with further qualifications,professional training in teaching, nursing and socialwork.
