Agri-Export Technologist Programme<strong>PPECB</strong> still remains committed, with its distinctly strongposition and depth of technical knowledge and experience,to providing previously disadvantaged learners who have a3 year National Diploma in an Agricultural Field, opportunityto develop skills in the agri-export industry through thecollaborative arrangement with DAFF.101 Learners have been enrolled on the programme sinceits inception. 78, 21 % have been employed in the agriculturalsector. <strong>PPECB</strong> is committed to this programme for the ensuingperiod.Creating an Enabling EnvironmentStaff EngagementIn order to keep employees fully engaged, structures andprocesses have been enhanced by the formalisation ofthese through staff engagement framework. As a newinitiative the framework prioritises communication between<strong>PPECB</strong> stakeholders by constituting the Development andTransformation Committee, briefs from the office of theCEO, Technical Experts BI, <strong>Annual</strong> Symposium and Talk tothe CEO Email Facility with 48 hour turnaround time.Company-wide Dialogue Sessions were initiated. Thesefacilitated focus group sessions culminated in a report ofissues that needed addressing being presented to theexecutive. Proper responses were provided. This process notonly helped clear the air but assisted in gauging the moodwithin the organisation thus providing scientific pointers.This will be followed by the perception survey in the ensuingreporting period.TransformationWe have not taken our eyes off building a diverse workforcerepresentative of the South African society, this being thekey driver for our Employment Equity Plan. Progress has beenrecorded in the reporting period.
