Therefore, the council initiatedimplementing the Integrated StrategicPlanning and Reporting Frameworkthrough developing an EngagementStrategy tailor made to address the needsof our diverse communities with thefollowing objectives:• To involve the community, including‘hard to reach’ groups, less vocalresidents and potentially marginalisedgroups, in the development,implementation and review of theCommunity Strategic Plan.• To ensure that engagement methodsand techniques were tailored to theneeds of the community, were deliveredin a timely manner and providefor meaningful input and genuineinvolvement in the implementation of theCommunity Strategic Plan.ShireEmployees• To provide a comprehensive andrelevant Community Strategic Planthat is informed by a robust communityengagement process and is compliantwith the legislative integrated planningand reporting requirements under theLocal Government Act 1995 and relatedDepartment of Local Governmentguidelines.• To promote a sense of inclusion in theShire’s decision making process.The Community Engagement Strategycommenced utilising data from 2008.State RegionalAnd FederalGovernmentCouncillorsLocalBusinessesOurCommunityShireResidentsCommunityGroupsFly InFly OutWorkersSource: Karratha 2020 Vision, Geografia, 2008[32] Shire of Roebourne Strategic Community Plan 2012-2022
