Section FiveCommunity Survey 2008In 2008 a survey of residents wasundertaken as part of the Karratha 2020Vision project. The survey generated 518valid responses and indicated health as thesingle largest concern among residents,particularly amongst females. The majoritysaid they would also like to see the towngrow, diversify the economic base andattract a better suite of facilities andservices.Community Survey 2009In 2009 the Shire commissionedMarketintel to undertake a CommunitySurvey. General satisfaction with theShire’s Performance was low. Prioritiesareas for improvement include health,local roads, community facilities, recreationand parks, and addressing anti-socialbehaviour.*These are the service areas with greatestpositive impact on the community inrelation to social well being and overallperception about the performance of theShire as a service providerCommunity Survey 2011 Community Survey 20121. Statistics StatisticsTotal of 605 responses were received in this survey478 residents surveyed and 127 FIFO respondents238 of all respondents were Female (44.9%) and 292 were male(55.1%)2. Top 3 Priorities Top 3 PrioritiesOne third (34%) of all respondents indicated that Hospital and MedicalServices was a top three priorityAffordability and the cost of living was next, with 28% of respondentsputting it in their top threeThe third priority was Leisure and Entertainment with 21% ofrespondents rating it in their top 33.
