CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT PREVENTION ANDREPORTINGAdministrative RegulationsAR 603.7Page 5 of 9e. The name, address, telephone number and other relevant personal information about theperson(s) who might have abused or neglected the child.The mandated reporter shall make a report even if some of this information is not known or isuncertain to him/her (Penal Code Section 11167).The mandated reporter may give to an investigator from an agency that is investigating the case,including a licensing agency, any information relevant to the incident of child abuse or neglector to a report made for serious emotional damage pursuant to Penal Code Section 11166.05 (PenalCode Section 11167).Internal ReportingEmployees reporting child abuse or neglect to the appropriate agency are encouraged, but notrequired, to notify the principal or designee as soon as possible after the initial telephone report toan appropriate agency.The principal or designee so notified shall provide the mandated reporter with any assistancenecessary to ensure that reporting procedures are carried out in accordance with law, board policyand administrative regulation. At the mandated reporter's request, the principal may assist incompleting and filing these forms.The mandated reporter shall not be required to disclose his/her identity to the principal. He/shemay provide or mail a copy of the written report to the principal, Superintendent or designeewithout his/her signature or name.TrainingTraining of mandated reporters shall include child abuse identification and reporting. Allemployees receiving such training shall receive written notice of state reporting requirements andemployees' confidentiality rights (Penal Code Section 11165.7).Training shall also include guidance in the appropriate discipline of students, physical contact withstudents, and maintenance of ethical relationships with students to avoid actions that may bemisinterpreted as child abuse.(cf.
