Parents, students and staffsign the Home-<strong>School</strong> Compact. Each teacher drafts his or her own classroom discipline plan using theAssertive Discipline Model. Parents are contacted as part of the Team Approach to discipline. Parents alsohave access to information from the classrooms through homework assignments and conductreports. <strong>Thorner</strong> <strong>School</strong> participates in the Extended Learning Time (ELT), which is an after-school tutoringprogram to improve student achievement. It sits on 13.48 acres of which 4.99 acres is playground. Thisschool has 36 classrooms, a multi-purpose facility, library, computer lab, magnet office, art lab,and music lab. The campus also has a staff lounge.The custodial staff adheres to a weekly cleaning schedule that includes classrooms, restrooms,the cafeteria and kitchen areas.The <strong>District</strong>’s Mobile Maintenance Team visits the school site at least twice a year.
