Parents, students and staffsign the Home-School Compact. Each teacher drafts his or her own classroom discipline plan using theAssertive Discipline Model. Parents are contacted as part of the Team Approach to discipline. Parents alsohave access to information from the classrooms through homework assignments and conductreports. Thorner School participates in the Extended Learning Time (ELT), which is an after-school tutoringprogram to improve student achievement. Our Creative and Performing Arts Magnet Program provides anenriched educational after-school program, including art, music, dance and drama. Thisschool has 36 classrooms, a multi-purpose facility, library, computer lab, magnet office, art lab,and music lab. The campus also has a staff lounge.The custodial staff adheres to a weekly cleaning schedule that includes classrooms, restrooms,the cafeteria and kitchen areas.The District’s Mobile Maintenance Team visits the school site at least twice a year. Maintenanceemergencies are addressed immediately.
