Damaged control p.c. board.RECOMMENDEDCOURSE OF ACTIONE-9‘GLP’ is displayed.1. Ground Loop Protection faultoccurred.2. GLP reed switch failure.3. Damaged control p.c. board.After pressing the trigger, wirefeeds for a couple seconds, butstops. The voltage display readsless than 8.0 volts while the wire isfeeding.1. Power source work & electrodesense lead polarity switch orjumper is not correctly set.2. Damaged wiring between thecontrol p.c. board and the workand electrode connections.3. E-10Procedure for Replacing PC BoardsTROUBLESHOOTINGE-10WARNINGELECTRIC SHOCK can kill.• Have a qualified individual install andservice this equipment.• Turn the power source input power offat the disconnect switch before workingon this equipment.• Do not touch electrically hot parts.---------------------------------------------------------------------Before replacing a PC board which is suspected ofbeing defective, visually inspect the PC board in questionfor any electrical or mechanical damage to any ofits components and conductors on the back of theboard.a. If there is no visible damage to the PC board,install a new one and see if this remedies the problem.If the problem is remedied, reinstall the oldPC board to see if the problem still exists. If itdoes no longer exist with old PC board:1. Check the PC board harness connector pins forcorrosion, contamination, or looseness.2. Check leads in the plug harness for loose orintermittent connection.b. If PC board is visibly damaged electrically, beforepossibly subjecting the new PC board to the samecause of failure, check for possible shorts, opens,or grounds caused by:1. Frayed or pinched lead insulation.2. Poor lead termination, such as a poor contactor a short to adjacent connection or surface.3. Shorted or open motor leads, or other externalleads.4. Foreign matter or interference behind the PCboards.c. If PC board is visibly damaged mechanically,inspect for cause, then remedy before installing areplacement PC board.If there is damage to the PC board or if replacingPC board corrects problem, return it to the localLincoln Electric Field Service Shop.DH-10
