<strong>Employment</strong> <strong>Policies</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> 13b. The <strong>County</strong> Manager or designee shall not give approval ofsuch service which would be in violation of the provisionsof Section 112.313, Florida Statutes.C. Solicitation of Funds1. Selling of commercial products, such as make-up and jewelryby <strong>County</strong> employees or outside individuals, is prohibitedon <strong>County</strong> time or on <strong>County</strong> property. An employee whoengages in this type of selling may post their businesson the intranet or employee bulletin boards (other thanemployment law bulletin boards) with a personal phonenumber or personal e-mail address for contact.2. Selling and distributing products such as cookies and cardsfor charitable purposes which benefit schools, non-profitorganizations, etc. is prohibited on <strong>County</strong> time and in workareas open to the public. However, books and sign-up listsmay be left in break areas, or in areas that are not in view ofcustomers. It is incumbent on employees to ensure that salesof this nature do not supplant work productivity and are notconducted in a manner that could be construed as obligatory.3. A request by a department or employee for countywideaid or assistance to benefit an employee or a member of anemployee’s family in the event of need or tragedy should bemade to the <strong>County</strong> Manager’s established employee forum.The employee forum will convene and recommend to the<strong>County</strong> Manager an appropriate response. Final approval willbe made by the <strong>County</strong> Manager.
