OBJECTIVEThe purpose of this policy is to establish leave for eligible employeesunder certain allowable conditions with proper documentation.Employees classified as Temporary/Seasonal or Casual/On-Call arenot eligible for leave under this policy unless specifically providedfor by applicable law in the case of Military Leave.II.DIRECTIVESA. Paid Leave1. Court and Jury Dutya. An employee who is summoned as a member of a jury isgranted leave of absence with pay. Employees summonedfor jury duty, but not selected, must report back to the jobsite the same day. When the employee is compensated bythe court system for their service as a juror, any stipendreceived must be returned to the <strong>County</strong> Finance Office.b. Employees who are subpoenaed or required to appear incourt relating to <strong>County</strong> business are paid at their regularrate if called away from their work site. Since the <strong>County</strong>is continuing to pay employees their regular wages, anywitness fees or stipends received must be returned to the<strong>County</strong> Finance Office.c. Employees who are absent from work due to personallitigation or court cases may be allowed to utilize annualleave with Department Director approval.
