30 <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board of <strong>County</strong> Commissioners4.1 Work Hours and OvertimeI. OBJECTIVEThe purpose of this policy is to establish standards for work hoursand overtime compensation for all employees.II.DIRECTIVESA. Business Hours and Timekeeping1. The <strong>County</strong> will maintain regular hours of business operationsas required by workload, productivity, customer serviceneeds, the efficient management of human resources and anyapplicable laws. Regular hours and changes to regular hours ofoperations will be posted and announced to the public.2. The <strong>County</strong> establishes the standard work week to run from12:01 a.m. on Sunday through 12:00 midnight on the followingSaturday of each week. Pay periods shall be established foreach two-week period. The standard work week shall typicallyconsist of a total of forty (40) hours. Depending on workrequirements, the normal workweek may include weekendand/or evening work. In general, administrative offices shallbe open to the public from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Mondaythrough Friday, though specific office hours may vary basedupon the function or operational demands of each office.3. Employees may conduct <strong>County</strong> business from remotelocations with Department Director or designee approval.4. Non-exempt employees are required to complete timesheetsor make entries into a time-keeping system each dayto record actual time worked to the nearest quarter of anhour. Actual employee arrival time must be documented onthe non-exempt employee’s timesheet. Exempt employeesare required to complete an accurate report of leave used
