<strong>Employment</strong> <strong>Policies</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> 51cutting utensils, clubs, brass knuckles, explosives or destructivedevices, chemical weapons and devices, stun guns, or otherobjects that may be considered weapons as defined by Section790.001, Florida Statutes.The only exceptions to the preceding prohibition on possessionof a weapon shall be where the use of a weapon is a necessaryand approved requirement of the employee’s job or wherethe individual is specifically authorized to maintain a firearmin a locked personal motor vehicle by Section 790.251,Florida Statutes.D. Reporting1. Employees have a “duty to warn” their Supervisors,Human Resources Director, Department Directors, <strong>County</strong>Manager, Deputy <strong>County</strong> Manager, or <strong>County</strong> Attorney ofany potentially violent situations, or suspicious workplaceactivities, situations or incidents that they observe or thatthey are aware of that involve other employees, formeremployees, customers or visitors. The Human ResourcesDirector, <strong>County</strong> Manager, and <strong>County</strong> Attorney shall benotified of all reports under this section unless the reportinvolves the Human Resources Director, <strong>County</strong> Manager, or<strong>County</strong> Attorney. To the extent possible, such reports will behandled confidentially.2. An employee will not be penalized in any way for makinga report in good faith under this policy. Employees shouldnot assume the <strong>County</strong> is aware of any employee violenceproblems and should immediately bring all complaintsand concerns to the <strong>County</strong>’s attention so that they can beappropriately addressed.
