(3(33318An Islamic Model of SocialSecurityThe case of those who spend their propertyfor the cause of God is like that of a grainthat brings forth seven ears, each bearing ahundred grains. God gives manifoldincrease to whom He wills. God isMunificent, All- Knowing. (261)Those who spend their property for thecause of God and do not follow theirspending by vaunting their own generosity,or by hurting others, shall have theirreward with their Lord. They have nothingto fear, nor shall they grieve. (262)A kind word with forgiveness is better thancharity followed by injury. God is free of allwants, clement. (263)Believers, do not render your charitabledeeds worthless by boasting about yourbenevolence and causing injury to others, asdoes he who spends his wealth to impresspeople, while he believes neither in God norin the Last Day. Such a person is like asmooth rock covered with earth. Thenheavy rain falls on it and leaves it hardand bare. Such as these shall gain nothingfrom their works. God does not guide theunbelievers.
