That is due to inspiration. As theinspiration grows in strength and vigour, one <strong>of</strong>fersmore and more donations. Later one <strong>of</strong>fers time. Stilllater one <strong>of</strong>fers oneself. That is how the steps are. Littlepractices <strong>of</strong> service, when continuously done, inspireone up to self-sacrifice. Sacrificing oneself for a noblecause is seen as the highest form <strong>of</strong> sacrifice. It is calledthe ritual <strong>of</strong> man sacrifice ‘Purusha medha’.A Constant Eye to the Ideal <strong>of</strong> Human Progressionand Perfection, which the Secret Science DepictsProgression and perfection is the ideal towards whichevery human being tends to walk in his own way. It isthe inner impulse to grow that exists in every humanbeing. Each one tries with one’s own limitations tomove forward, the basic ideal being progression. Whatone sees as progression may not be seen by the other asprogression, but the will to progress is with all. From theordinary worker to a high intellectual there is the urgefor a better tomorrow. It is with this hope humanitymoves on, hoping for better health, better economics,better living conditions, better family conditions, bettersocial relations, and so on.In matters <strong>of</strong> progression, each one sets his ideal.<strong>The</strong>y vary from the most mundane to the most spiritual.All humans are striving in their own way with their ownlimitations. <strong>The</strong>y learn from their mistakes and moveforward. If they do not learn from their mistakes, theyremain stagnated. <strong>The</strong>re are varieties <strong>of</strong> stagnations,just as there are varieties <strong>of</strong> goals <strong>of</strong> progression. Eachone visualises individually and seldom sees the need forcollective progression. But as one progresses, one cannotprogress much, unless one’s fellow humans also progress.This knowledge <strong>of</strong> collective progression dawns uponthe human being in his advanced states <strong>of</strong> understanding.132 133
