Other paints maycontain copper, which is conductive and can burnout the transducer within minutes!Cleaning atransducerTo clean the transducer of heavy debris or foul sea growth, use a stiffbrush or putty knife, but don’t scratch the surfaces. Check the transducerevery few weeks, maximum.Use sanding sparingly, as repeated sanding may affect the transducer’sperformance at high speeds.
