EUFEPS Newsletter, 1992, vol. 1, issue 2
Dear Members,
successful first
EUFEPS Congress
Hans Junginger, Professor
President of the Organizing Scientific Committee
Following the establishment in 1991 of the
European Federation for Pharmaceutical
Sciences, one of the first aims of the Society
was to bring together pharmaceutical
scientists and to organize a truly scientific
congress in one of the member countries.
The Dutch Association for
Pharmaceutical Sciences is honoured to
arrange the First European Congress of
Pharmaceutical Sciences, to take place in
Amsterdam at the RAI-Congress Center,
during October 7–9, 1992.
As chairman of the Scientific
Committee, I am pleased to announce
that we succeeded in attracting 39 leading
scientists from primarily European
countries, and covering all pharmaceutical
disciplines, who will contribute to 12
symposia and present the results of their
latest research. Already two weeks before
the deadline for submitting the abstracts
for poster presentation, we had received
more than 100 abstracts. This clearly
indicates that the congress will, in fact,
be an accepted meeting place of scientists
from all over the world. I would therefore
like to encourage you, too, to participate in
the Congress.
Amsterdam is today a modem
metropolis which houses the dynamic
RAI Amsterdam Convention Center.
The Dutch capital has succeeded in
combining its contemporary character
with the unique historical atmosphere of
the 17th century inner city and its famous
system of canals. It is my sincere hope
IV
Hans Junginger, Professor
that all those attending the First European
Congress will be able to enjoy the exciting
dualism of this city, blending the serious
work of acquiring the latest information
and research results from all branches
of the pharmaceutical sciences with the
delightful experience of being captured by
the intimate allure of the streets, squares
and canals of this fascinating place.
What a superb environment in which
to attend a very important Congress, to
relax and to make new friends, and to
experience the charm of Amsterdam!
