Waukesha Cherry-Burrell TroubleshootingTroubleshootingPROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SUGGESTED ACTIONNo flow, pump rotors are notturning.No flow, pump rotors areturning.Drive motor not running.Keys sheared or missing.Drive belts, power transmissioncomponents slipping or broken.Pump shaft, keys, or gearssheared.Rotors turn in the wrongdirection.Relief valve not properlyadjusted, or held open by foreignmaterial.Check resets, fuses, circuit breakers.Replace.Replace or adjust.Inspect: and replace parts as necessary.Check motor hookup to reverse motorrotation.Adjust or clear valve.No flow, pump not priming. Valve closed in inlet line. Open valve.Inlet line clogged or restricted.Air leaks due to bad gaskets orpipe connections.Pump speed too slow.Liquid drains or siphons fromsystem during off periods."Air" lock caused by fluidswhich "gas off", or vaporize, orallow gas to come out of solutionduring off periods.Extra clearance rotors, wornpump.Net inlet pressure available toolow.On "Vacuum'' inlet system: Oninitial start-up, atmospheric"blow back'' prevents pump fromdeveloping enough differentialpressure to start flow.Clear line, clean filters, etc.Replace gaskets; check lines for leakage(can be done by air, by pressure or byfilling with liquid and pressurizing withair).Increase pump speed.Use foot valve or check valves.Filling inlet lines with material beforestartup may solve startup primingproblems due to no material in system.Install and use a manual or automatic airbleed from pump or lines near pump.Increase pump speed, use foot valve toimprove priming.Check Net Inlet Pressure Available & NetInlet Pressure Required.
