Interviews (Step Three)The Environmental Professional shall interview the currentowner, operator or occupant(s) of the Property to obtaininformation which may indicate a recognized environmentalcondition at the site. The inability to obtain information in thissection shall be identified as a data gap if failure to obtain suchinformation affects the ability of the EnvironmentalProfessional to adequately assess the conditions of theProperty.a. Immediate Siteb. Interview the current owner, operator or occupant(s) of theProperty to determine historical land use activities, andwhether possible Hazardous Substances or Petroleum Productswere generated, used, treated, released, disposed of, ortransported. Additional individuals should be interviewed asnecessary to provide sufficient information with regard toprevious land use and property condition. These additionalindividuals may include, but are not limited to, former propertyowners, operators or occupants, employees, key on-sitemanagers, chief physical plant supervisors, or headmaintenance persons. If the current owner, operator oroccupant(s) cannot be interviewed, at least one owner oroccupant of a neighboring property should be interviewed toobtain information regarding past owners or uses of the subjectproperty. Maintain names, addresses, and telephone numbers ofall persons interviewed, and dates interviewed.18
