D. DRESSING CHANGE
See procedure CVC: Gauze Dressing Change, No. 9.19 or
CVC: Transparent Permeable Adhesive Dressing, No. 9.20.
E. MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION
Medication can be administered via the Groshong catheter
either continuously or intermittently. Review Administration of
Intravenous Therapy in the Home, No. 9.01. If a pump is used,
refer to manufacturer's guidelines for specific instructions.
Flush the Groshong catheter with 5-10cc normal saline0.9 %
sodiujm chloride, injection, prior to medication administration,
between medications if more than one is administered, and at
the end of the administration
