Half-yearly financial report at June 30, 2013Energy sector198The Energy Sector comprises the following activities:• Electricity generation: power plant management through a generation pool ofhydroelectric and thermoelectric plants with installed power of 12.0 GW ( 1 );• Energy management: the purchase and sale of electricity and gaseous and non-gaseousfuels on national and international wholesale markets; the procurement of the fuelsneeded to meet the requirements of the thermoelectric plants and customers; planning,programming and dispatching for electricity generation plants;• Sale of electricity and gas: marketing of electricity and gas to the eligible customermarket. Also included is the sale of electricity to customers eligible for “higherprotection”.In addition to the activities carried out directly by A2A S.p.A., the Energy Sector also includesthe following companies:EnergyConsolidated companiesof the A2A GroupThermoelectric andhydroelectric plantsEnergy ManagementSale of electricity and gas• Abruzzoenergia• A2A Energia• A2A Trading• Edipower• Plurigas• Aspem Energia• EPCG(1) Includes 100% of the Edipower S.p.A. plants and the EPCG plants.
