Zuzana Vargová of <strong>ZSSK</strong> <strong>CARGO</strong> is in chargeof commodity unspecified (0), chemical products (1) and oil products(6). As a market analyst, she determines price conditions for transportationsof the above-mentioned commodities for trade managers.She monitors transportation course of these commodities, marketdevelopment or activities of competitive carriers.In 2006, the automobiles were taken out from commodity unspecified(0) and at present this category includes goods, which are not possibleto be classified to other commodities. Important goods that belong hereare e.g. cullet, glass vessels, ethyl alcohol, furniture, “white” electric devicesand many more. Products of commodity chemical products (1) aretransported for chemical plants requiring regular supplies of materials.The biggest and most important partners, for which company <strong>ZSSK</strong> CAR-GO provides transportations in domestic transport, import and exportare companies: Slovnaft Bratislava, Duslo Šaľa, Novácké chemickézávody Nováky, Slovalko Žiar nad Hronom, CTP Púchov, Chemko Strážskeand others. Transportation of chemical products such as sulphur,ammonia, salts, plastic materials, tyres, pitch coke, fertilizers and so on– for our customers, is provided by wagon series Tds, Uadds, Zaes.Transportations of oil products (6) include mainly transportations forbig refineries (Slovnaft Bratislava) and other plants such as PetrochemaDubová, Progress Trading. Of this commodity, goods transported by railinclude gas, light fuel oils, heavy fuel oils, petrol coke and other.Many of the above-mentioned goods are dangerous materials, which aretransported in accordance with RID regulations or Annex 2 to SMGS. Incompliance with the tariff TR 1 for 2009, pursuant to § 15, this categoryincludes materials of class 7 – radioactive goods, class 1 – explosives,various acids NHM 2801, 2806, 2807, 2808, 2809, 2814 and 291521.The price for transportation of these goods is calculated accordingto general or specific tariff regulations and relevant tables, with 15%additional charge, since transportation of dangerous goods requiresincreased costs.<strong>ZSSK</strong> <strong>CARGO</strong> has 1 458 tank wagons in its rolling stock, which are usedfor transportation of previously mentioned commodities. Of this number,company <strong>ZSSK</strong> <strong>CARGO</strong> rented 538 tanks for Slovnaft Bratislava.- Transportations in commodities chemical products and oil productsare carried out mainly in private wagons by block trains and other railcarriers are interested in them as well. Therefore we have to convincethe customers by quality and price – says the product manager of SalesSection Ing. Zuzana Vargová.A curiosity of transportations of these commodities by rail is their handlingin the bogie change workplace, i.e. change of the Ukrainian wagonsbogies in the railway station Maťovce, so that they could continue up tothe destination station in Slovakia. The Maťovce bogie change workplaceis the only one in <strong>ZSSK</strong> <strong>CARGO</strong>, it has been in operation since1987 and that particularly for transportations of the above-mentionedcommodities. In the forst 10 months of 2008, 170 660 tons of goodswere transported via bogie change workplace. Of this quantity, 116 376tons within the commodity chemical products (e.g. mineral fertilizers,nitrates, urea, chlorides, sulphates, ammonia) and 54 283 tons of oilproducts (e.g. diesel oil).A big challenge for <strong>ZSSK</strong> <strong>CARGO</strong> within the transportations of oil productswas a common project with MÁV <strong>Cargo</strong> for provision of transportationsfrom Bratislava ÚNS via Komárno to Dunaifinomitó and back,for companies MOL and Slovnaft.
