The fun was not inwinning them or beating someoneelse. The fun was in thechallenge, the challenge of myselfand my abilities. Virginia Countand Timed Fire" and, althoughhe has made some salientpoints, I disagree with some ofhis contentions.Jeff may have been "in thesport" too long to remembersome of the early experiences.Being relatively new to thesport, I feel there are relevantreasons for certain Timed Fireand Virginia Count courses. Some of these are rather senseless,i.e. Hammer Time. Thishas just recently been removedfrom the classifier book for goodreasons. Other Timed Fire andVirginia Count courses do makesome sense.Of course, we are all awarethat USPSA/IPSC was foundedupon principles of practicalshooting. It has become a gameand all of us enjoy it. Acceptingthis premise, however, we stillare in the business of improvingour prowess with a pistol. This involves our credo of Accuracy,Power, and Speed. Timedcourses of fire actually help theshooters with less ability morethan "A" and Master shooters. It gives us challenges to "shootfor!" It solidifies our concentrationand forces us to follow instruction. To say that no oneshould be able to "clean it"would engender a defeatist at-COLT • SPRINGFIELD • CASPIAN • PARA ORD,STI • VOIGT • A111911 CopiesACC-U-RAILPistotsmiths InvitedBOB KRIEGER, INC.Master GunSrnah2271 Slar CourtRoches1er Hills. titude. This is not what we areabout.Every exercise should be "doable."For instance, the 50-yardstandards are generally hatedby all lower class shooters (andsome of the best shooters). I believethat all shooters should beable to fire six shots into the "A"zone under pressure of time at50 yards! If you don't practiceat 50 yards, the typical shooterwill not know the capabilities ofhis auto-pistol. It takes a properlyset up gun and ammunitionto be able to hit the "A"zone of the target consistently. It takes a lot of work to able toperform to these standards. Ittakes a steady hand and aproper trigger pull! I assure youthat if USPSA did not havethese long range classifiers, very few shooters would practiceat distances more than 25or 30 yards.Strong hand/weak handclassifiers are feared by some"B" and most "C" and "D" shooters. Why? Because they do nothave sufficient practice andmatch experience. Is it necessary?Absolutely! How do youforce them to practice? Youmake them shoot stronghand/weak hand in matches. Alot of significant stages of firewith these characteristics areVirginia Count. You have to beaccurate with the first shot oryou lose! FL 34602(352) 799-5T74I agree that some of the classifiersare nebulous as to their"practical status," and I noticethat USPSA "prunes" the bookevery year. In addition, the designersof the major matchesare capable of setting up excitingand challenging courses offire using Comstock rules. Theblack bullet accomplished this and muchmore. The unique coating developed byPrecision Bullets will withstand temperaturesof up to 2700 degrees, which meansthat the bullet will not melt in any barrel, oremit harmful gases. The bullet is made of100% virgin lead alloy. Before sizing, thebullets are put through a dry lube processencasing them in a polymer base coating. This coating eliminates the need to usebullet lube on the cast bullet thus it isself-lubricating.Because of this special coating, you canforget about all of the hard work ofcleaning lead out of the barrel. All you willget is some powder and primer residue thatwill swab out very easily. You'll find the reloading process muchfaster and cleaner as well. With virtually nodirty lead residue, you can load twice aslong between cleaning your dies.Precision Bullets is dedicated to makingthe best, most cost effective lead bulletsyou can buy. Try them for yourself anddiscover the difference that precisionmakes.Two-time, back-to-back world championTed Bonnet shoots Precision Bullets. What are you waiting for?• No Harmful GasesAcceptable for use in indoor ranges. Our special coatingeliminates the release of harmful gasses, and falls withinOSHA standards.• Always AccurateTHE BLACK BULLETeSave Cleaning TimeWith virtually no lead deposits, cleaning your barrel issimply a matter of swabbing out powder and primerresidueePriceWhen chronographed using the same charge and primers, These bullets are not only safer, cleaner, and morethese bullets were clocked at 50 to 70 fps faster than accurate, but they're also less expensive than otherany other bullet tested. Because of their constant bullet jacketed lead bulletsweight and size, they are very accurate....PRECISIONPRECISION BULLET COMPANYDanny Cox, Proprietor1922 C.
